St. Simons Rotary Club member Leslie Mattingly recently chaired a four day residential Rotary District 6920 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Conference (RYLA) held at the College of Coastal Georgia. Each of 5 area Rotary Clubs (SSI, Brunswick, Golden Isles, Jekyll and SSI Satellite) sponsored one or more High School students to attend the intensive leadership experience. Collaboration between the sponsoring rotarian clubs enabled students to expand their perceptions, learn about themselves, discuss leadership skills and put those skills to practice: presentations were given by local community professionals. The RYLA Conference was a great success. RYLA 2024 will be held at the College of Coastal Georgia (CCGA) campus next June. The club members are pictured at CCGA.
