On October 17th, 2023 five Area 5 clubs came together for our second annual Polio Plus fundraising event The Rotary Club of Kings Bay, Brunswick, Golden Isles, Jekyll, and St Simons Island all participated both in attending and in donating silent auction items. Silent auction items also included Paula Goodnow’s famous banana bread and baklava! We held the event at Tipsy McFly’s in Brunswick at the Brunswick Airport. Between our clubs we had an attendance of approximately 40 club members and guests, brought in 56 auction items, and raised $3,547; $600 of which were cash donations and two new Polio Plus Society members. Yolanda Neely donated her time as our DJ. Thank you to Trena Smith-Smyth for coordinating the event.
